The next step is the scroll over them! Our charts are interactive, which means you can move your cursor along the graph to bring up a value balloons for each data set. You can also click on any line to turn it?s value balloon off.

faq2

If you want to turn off a particular data set, simply find it in the chart?s legend and tick off the corresponding box. This is particularly useful in charts with lots of overlaying lines and data.

faq3

Finally, you can click and drag across any section of a chart to zoom in as much as you like. To zoom back out click the ?Show all? button in the top right corner.

Xcheque Charts - A quick tour

The chart function used on the Xcheque site offers a new and exciting way to view and access data.  Here's a few tips on how to make the most of the capability of our charts.

Value Balloons

When you move the cursor over the chart the "Value Balloons" appear along the vertical line of the cursor.   On the chart the Y values associated with each plotted line appear in the same colour as the line.  The X value associated with this data appears in the blue balloon on the X axis.

To get rid of the value ballons by pointing the cursor to the plotted line (it will change colour when selected) and pressing the left mouse button.  You can do the same thing by clicking on the name of the line in the legend (the underline will disappear).  Do this again to turn the balloons back on.

Remove Plotted Lines

You can turn off and on individual plotted lines by selecting the coloured key next to each plot name in the legend.  A white tick in the key signifies that the line is plotted and when this is absent the line does not appear on the chart.   This is particularly useful in charts with lots of overlaying lines and data.

The Zoom Feature

To zoom in to a particular area of the chart move the mouse pointer on to the chart, press and hold the left mouse button and then drag the pointer across the area you are interested in.  The area being selected takes on a light blue shade when you do this.  When you release the left mouse button the chart will zoom in to that area.

To move the zoom area select the blue bar that has appeared at the top of the chart.  Drag this left or right.  The pink background to this bar shows you how big the entire chart is relative to the zoom area.

To go back to the full size chart simply click on the "Show All" text in the top right hand corner of the chart.

Here's one to practice on - have fun! Cool
