Some of the countries still banging a cricket ball around a field actually produce milk. Our theory is that Australia doesn't produce enough of it and that is why they fell at the first real hurdle.

Here is a video of NSW, Qld and WA farmers pursuing an export cheese strategy. Note the apathetic farmers and processors being taken away on stretchers. You can also see that in the uphill battle somebody eventually makes it.

The oddspot team have gone back to their roots this week and unearthed this classic "Got Milk" ad.

It is a bit early for the rugby world cup but it needs to be said that there is no shortage of spirit in New Zealand.

Apparently there were complaints about the oddspot last week.  "It was like ... a real downer man". Here's the other end of the spectrum for our upbeat American cousins who are holding up their end in global milk production growth ... mind you, as I recall this film doesn't end so well.

Apropos of almost nothing that is related to dairy, here's a tribute to global insanity (we do admit "No milk today" is a better homily for the state of the dairy world).

Just so the rest of the world can share the joke in Neil's blog this week, here is the Australian cultural reference ... well actually this is not the original ad but it does have a vague reference to dairy ... if you listen carefully.

In the spirit of Dr Hauser's blog this week here is Donald Rumsfeld original piece of insight on known knowns (but we still think the balloon man offers the best comment on the global dairy industry).
